After adding a page to Favorites you must close and reopen IE for the change to take effect. In Firefox, Mozilla and Opera (at least in recent versions) you do not have to add the site to your Favorites to have the icon displayed, and it is displayed for all pages of the site (except the Forum). Thank you to Laura for reminding me of the possibility of adding a custom icon. I have also updated the notes to all songs found on ECS. German and Danish reviews of WW added under 'Eva links | Foreign language'. A couple of dead or changed links in the same section have been updated or removed.

Bug fix: in a search for a phrase that spans two lines in a lyric, the second line of the first occurrence is no longer omitted from the output and any subsequent occurrences are no longer displayed entirely in bold type. Aren't you all relieved? Some button labels on the Search page have also been changed.

Of all Eva's recordings released so far Hear is the only one with lyrics written by Eva and music by Chris. Update: The Wonderful World single is now listed by Amazon.

2004-06-17: 1:45am Copenhagen time (GMT+1). Terrific news: a new Eva Cassidy CD will be released in about a month. The title of this album will be Wonderful World. Currently Amazon.co.uk is the only site to mention the CD. Rather surprisingly, the most recent issue of Hot Records' newsletter The Heater (hard copy only) fails to mention the new CD. It does, however, advertize the new Eva single: What A Wonderful (with re-recorded instrumental backing) | What A Wonderful (LABA version), which so far appears only to be available directly from Hot Records as a freebie with every two Eva CDs customers order. There are no new titles on the new Eva album. I hope we shall soon know whether this is Greatest Hits Vol. Two (Songbird of course being vol. I), a CD with alternative versions, or an album with Eva's voice over re-recorded instrumental backing. It could of course be a bit of all these. Now to something else. My ISP still has a problem with its email server, so please use the site Forum for any messages to us until I let you know this is fixed. I am glad to say the site is now included in DMOZ Open Directory. This should mean the site will soon be included in Google Directory, and it has already had the result that the site is found at a position around 288 on the list of links returned by Google on a search for 'eva cassidy'. It used to be even further down the list, anywhere from 500 to 900. Needless to say I hope the climb continues.

2004-01-26: 6:15pm Copenhagen time (GMT+1). Eileen White kindly mailed me a couple of corrections to the transcription of Dark Eyed Molly (AT). Thank you, Eileen. I am sure you are right about 'Banbury Fair'. It is now indicated in the notes when a song is a duet or if Eva sings backing vocals only. In such cases I have put Eva's parts in bold type, while parts sung by both Eva and her duet partner are in small caps. Listening carefully to these duets once again has resulted in the discovery of several minor mistakes in our transcriptions of the TOS lyrics. These have now been corrected. Finally, I have made a few changes to the site note 'From your webmaster'. I have given the site a major code overhaul and added some new functionality. There is now an author index and an options section. I suppose the author index should have been called an originator index, but it didn't look good in the menu. Although the welcome page is still at www.evacassidy.dk, the addresses of virtually all other pages have been changed. If you have saved direct links to any album or song pages etc., you will need to navigate to those pages from the main menu at www.evacassidy.dk and then copy/save the new links from the address line of your browser

2003-12-16: 7pm Copenhagen time (GMT+1). I have now found a workaround for the annoying bug in the Gecko engine which meant that CD covers, song titles and numbers at the top of the page often failed to display in browsers such as Mozilla, Mozilla Firebird and recent Netscape versions. The layout these browsers are served now fully supports increasing or decreasing the font size. Images resize with the text. If you are hard of sight, you might consider using one of these browsers as text and images resize much more harmoniously than in Internet Explorer when you select a larger or smaller font from the browser's View menu (or wherever this option is found in the browser you use).

The web hotel currently hosting it has a capacity problem, so at what are peak hours here in Denmark, 6 to 11 am (GMT), you may see a white screen with a message from their server saying that the service is too busy to handle the traffic etc. If so, please wait a few seconds and try again. If they do not fix this problem very soon, the site will be moved to another web hotel.

2003-10-24: 4am Copenhagen time (GMT+1). I have now made the adjustments for 800x600 we discussed. I hope it is now all legible and looks reasonable as well. I have also added all the song index pages, so you can access the songs in abc order by title. Most songs from MA, all the 'stray' songs and two or three from LAP still aren't in place. That should be OK on Wednesday if not before. Then I must write the missing items for the Site notes. Thereafter: check that everything looks OK at all resolutions (adjustments will no doubt be required), add meta tags and point the search engines' attention to the existence of the site. If all goes well it should be ready next weekend.

2003-10-23: 3:30am Copenhagen time (GMT+1). First entry of many, I hope. Dear beta testers, Laura, Paul and Torbjörn, I think the site will be ready in about a week's time. The web hotel that is hosting it is currently experiencing some problems with its PHP support. PHP is a scripting language that is used for creating files that translate into html. If they do not get this fixed reasonably soon I will have to move the site to another web hotel. I hope that won't be necessary.
